Supersonic Flame Spraying (HVOF)

Supersonic flame spraying is a new type of high-energy flame spraying method, commonly known as HVOF (High velocity oxygen fuel), which is characterized by the extremely fast flow speed of the flame, exceeding the propagation speed of sound, up to 2200m/s, which is 5~10 times faster than the flame flow speed of the ordinary thermal spraying process.

Due to the high speed, the powder particles carry a strong kinetic energy to hit the surface of the substrate, and the coating formed has the advantages of high density and good binding strength.

Supersonic flame spraying has less oxygen content, moderate temperature and high flame flow velocity, which can effectively prevent the oxidation and decomposition of powder coating materials, so it is especially suitable for the spraying of carbonized coatings, and the coating has good wear resistance.

Spraying has few impurities, and in some cases the residual stress of the design can be obtained, so it can spray thicker coatings with high spraying efficiency.
